Overview:
We’re seeking a Commercial Business Development Manager to lead the growth of a commercial division. This individual will own the commercial pipeline—identifying high-value opportunities, building relationships with architects, designers, builders, developers, and property owners, and guiding projects from initial concept through quoting, design alignment, and handoff to production. This is a high-impact, hybrid role combining strategic business development, technical oversight, and project coordination—ideal for someone who thrives on relationship-building, shaping custom solutions, and driving measurable revenue growth.

What you will be doing:

  • Develop and manage a strong commercial project pipeline, targeting architects, designers, builders, developers, and multi-unit/commercial clients

  • Build and nurture long-term relationships to uncover new opportunities and expand market presence

  • Lead early client conversations, translating needs into clear project scopes and requirements

  • Review design concepts, drawings, and technical details at a high level to ensure feasibility, cost-effectiveness, and alignment with internal standards

  • Oversee quoting, proposals, timelines, permitting coordination, and cross-functional alignment (drafting, engineering, production)

  • Partner with internal teams (sales, design, engineering, production) to ensure smooth transitions from concept to build

  • Represent the organization at industry events, trade shows, and networking functions

  • Track pipeline health, project status, and revenue forecasts; report on key metrics to leadership


What you must have:

  • 5+ years of experience in commercial business development, technical sales, project development, or coordination within construction, architectural/building products, engineered materials, outdoor structures, or related industries

  • Proven ability to read and interpret construction drawings, renderings, dimensions, materials, and technical documents

  • Strong relationship-building and communication skills, with confidence leading early-stage client discussions

  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects at varying stages

  • Practical, solutions-oriented mindset for navigating commercial challenges and risk

  • Experience with CRM systems and project management tools is considered an asset

  • Diploma or degree in Business, Construction Technology, Architecture, Engineering, or equivalent experience preferred

Additional Requirements

  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record

  • Willingness to travel 15–25% for client meetings, site visits, and industry events


Salary/Rate Range: $90,000.00 - $110,000.00
