What you will be doing:

• Build and maintain internal systems that replace external SaaS dependencies, ensuring Marine Layer owns its core infrastructure

• Automate manual processes across sales operations, reporting, and client delivery

• Leverage AI-assisted development (Claude Code) as your daily workflow accelerant

• Manage and improve our central database and the integrations that connect it to every tool we use

• Translate business requirements from the sales and operations teams into technical specifications and shipped code

• Maintain engineering discipline: version control, testing, documentation, and clean deployments

What you must have:

• Have a degree in Financial Engineering, Operations Engineering, Computer Science (with finance interest), or a related quantitative field

• Have strong software fundamentals, are fluent in SQL, and understand API integrations

• Have foundational knowledge of financial products (structured notes, derivatives, fixed income)

• Have strong habits around code quality

• Are excited about AI-assisted development and have used Claude, Copilot, or similar tools

• Thrive in small, fast-moving teams where you own your outcomes

• Can communicate with non-technical people about technical tradeoffs

• Are innovative and enjoy collaborating with colleagues to create solution
