Overview:
Our client is a global electrical equipment engineering and manufacturing organization focused on power reliability, low-voltage energy performance, and high-power electrical systems. They are looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer to join their engineering team and support the design and development of high-power systems rated up to 2.5 MVA, including UPS, STS, PDU, and high-power test bay systems. This is a hands-on role with involvement across the full engineering lifecycle, including concept, architecture, detailed design, validation, manufacturing support, and factory acceptance testing.


What you will be doing:

  • Design and review electrical systems for UPS, STS, and PDU applications.

  • Develop schematics and layouts using EPLAN.

  • Support busbar design, cable sizing, BOMs, ERP workflows, and component selection.

  • Perform electrical calculations, including short-circuit, load flow, and protection coordination.

  • Contribute to high-power test bay design, hands-on testing, troubleshooting, and validation.

  • Apply safety and compliance requirements, including arc-flash, grounding, NEC, NFPA, UL, and IEC standards.

  • Work closely with engineering, manufacturing, and test teams to support production-ready designs.

 

What you must have:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.

  • 7+ years of electrical design experience with high-power systems, ideally 1 MVA+.

  • Hands-on experience with EPLAN, ERP systems, BOMs, busbar design, cable sizing, and high-current applications.

  • Experience with UPS, STS, PDU systems, power electronics, testing, validation, and troubleshooting.

  • Familiarity with energy storage, grid integration, BMS, control systems, or renewable energy technologies is an asset.


Salary/Rate Range: $120,000.00 - $148,000.00


*Hybrid schedule: Tuesday to Thursday in office, with occasional travel within Canada, the U.S., and Europe.
