They are seeking an engaged and experienced Inventory Supervisor to take end-to-end ownership of inventory control and "stores" management at their Port Alberni facility, while also providing oversight for several satellite locations. This role is vital for ensuring material availability, maintaining strict inventory accuracy, and aligning asset management with overarching business goals.

What you will be doing:

  • Leadership & Collaboration: Lead, coach, and manage the performance of direct reports and coordinate workloads across shipping, receiving, and inventory functions.

  • Cross-Functional Communication: Serve as the central point of contact for inventory matters between the Procurement, Maintenance, Projects, and Site Operations teams.

  • System & Layout Development: Design and implement optimized warehouse storage layouts, standardized labeling structures, and efficient location systems.

  • Process Enforcement: Establish and monitor strict process discipline for inventory sign-outs, receiving, put-away, and standard charge-out documentation.

  • Data Integrity: Take full accountability for the accuracy of physical stock versus ERP records across the primary facility and all satellite hubs.

  • Inventory Optimization: Validate and maintain ideal min/max stock levels to minimize stockouts, reduce emergency purchasing, and manage critical spare parts.

  • Project Planning: Translate upcoming project and maintenance schedules into proactive inventory readiness and material staging plans.

  • Continuous Improvement: Rapidly identify workflow or system breakdowns and execute effective corrective actions.

  • Team Contribution: Support broader organizational goals by assisting with cross-functional projects and other duties as required.

What you must have:

  • Core Experience: 5+ years of dedicated experience in inventory control, parts management, or industrial warehouse operations.

  • Leadership Track Record: 1 to 3+ years of experience in a supervisory or team leadership role.

  • System Proficiency: Strong hands-on experience working with ERP software, specifically within inventory control modules.

  • Technical & Industry Background (Preferred): Experience in heavy equipment, industrial, marine, or multi-site satellite inventory environments.

  • Systems Implementation: Proven background in setting up warehouse layouts, inventory processes, or control systems from scratch.

  • Safety & Organization: A deep personal commitment to workplace safety alongside superior organizational and problem-solving capabilities.

  • Interpersonal Skills: Proven ability to collaborate effectively across multiple departments like Maintenance and Procurement.

  • Assets: A Red Seal certification as a Parts Technician / Parts Person, and/or experience utilizing Sage 300 is highly desirable.

Salary/Rate Range:

$85,000 - $90,000
