Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN)
Shift: 13 weeks
5:45 pm - 6:15am,  every 3rd weekend, holidays PRN per unit needs.

Overview:
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to provide comprehensive nursing care within a correctional healthcare setting. The RN is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care while collaborating with physicians and the interdisciplinary healthcare team. This role requires strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and the ability to provide high-quality care in a secure environment.


What you will be doing:

  • Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized nursing care plans.

  • Administer medications, treatments, and therapies in accordance with provider orders and nursing standards.

  • Monitor patient conditions, recognize changes in health status, and initiate appropriate interventions.

  • Respond to medical emergencies and provide emergency nursing care as needed.

  • Accurately document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes in the electronic medical record.

  • Educate patients regarding health conditions, medications, and treatment plans.

  • Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and interdisciplinary team members to ensure continuity of care.

  • Ensure compliance with correctional facility policies, nursing standards, and regulatory requirements.

  • Maintain patient confidentiality while promoting a safe, secure, and therapeutic environment.

  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and ongoing professional development.


What you must have:

  • Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license.

  • Minimum of one (1) year of correctional nursing experience required.

  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. (ACLS preferred if required by the facility.)

  • Strong assessment, critical thinking, and clinical decision-making skills.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced correctional healthcare environment.

  • Must successfully complete all required facility credentialing, background checks, and onboarding requirements.
