Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)

Shift: Monday - Friday 7:30am - 5:00pm

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and dependable Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to provide temporary coverage at an onsite employee health clinic. This clinic provides healthcare services exclusively to employees of the client company; there are no pediatric patients.

The CMA will work closely with onsite healthcare providers and administrative staff to support efficient clinic operations and deliver an excellent patient experience.

What You'll Do

  • Room patients for healthcare providers and prepare them for examinations and visits.

  • Obtain and accurately document patient vital signs.

  • Assist providers with clinical procedures and general patient care as needed.

  • Perform point-of-care (POC) testing and operate clinical equipment, including EKG equipment.

  • Assist with the administration and documentation of vaccinations within scope of practice.

  • Monitor and inventory medical supplies and materials to ensure appropriate stock levels.

  • Track medical supply and medication expiration dates and ensure expired items are appropriately removed and replaced.

  • Manage clinical inboxes and assist with provider follow-up needs.

  • Prepare prescription requests for provider review and signature.

  • Assist with prior authorizations and other clinical documentation or coordination.

  • Schedule patient follow-up appointments and make follow-up phone calls on behalf of providers, working collaboratively with onsite administrative support.

  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the electronic health record.

  • Support the clinical team with day-to-day workflow and patient care needs.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What We're Looking For

  • Current Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) credential.

  • Previous experience working in a medical office, primary care, occupational health, or similar outpatient clinical environment preferred.

  • Experience obtaining vital signs and performing point-of-care testing.

  • Familiarity with EKG equipment and vaccination administration.

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage clinical tasks, provider inboxes, follow-ups, and documentation.

  • Excellent communication and patient service skills.

  • Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with providers and onsite administrative staff.

  • Dependable, professional, and comfortable working independently within scope of practice.
