Overview:
We are seeking a Senior Solution Architect to provide senior software development leadership, architecture guidance, and strategic advisory services to a common capabilities and AI platforms team within the BC public sector. This role supports multiple platform teams and senior leadership to improve architectural consistency, reduce duplication, and accelerate the delivery of reusable digital services. You will help guide the design and evolution of shared platforms that are consumed across many programs and services.
Platforms in Scope Include:

• Developer experience / portal platforms

• Application and service registries

• Forms and intake services

• Multi-channel notification services

• Location / geospatial services

• Workflow and automation platforms

What you will be doing:

• Act as a senior technical advisor to leadership and product teams

• Provide solution and enterprise architecture guidance across shared platforms

• Support platform modernization, software development, and integration initiatives

• Align platform roadmaps and technical decisions with broader organizational priorities

• Identify opportunities for reuse, standardization, and operational efficiency

• Support architecture governance and technology decision-making

What you must have:

• 10+ years leading software engineering, architecture, or platform modernization initiatives in large, complex organizations

• 5+ years providing solution, enterprise, or platform architecture services for enterprise-scale digital services

• Experience designing or advising on shared technology platforms used by multiple teams or programs

• Experience working across diverse technology environments (public cloud, private cloud, legacy systems, and SaaS platforms)

• Strong ability to provide strategic technical guidance and influence stakeholders without direct authority

Nice to have:

• Enterprise integration (APIs, event-driven architecture, interoperability)

• Developer platforms and developer experience initiatives

• Common capability platforms (forms, notifications, workflow, registries, geospatial services)

• AI-enabled services or digital modernization programs

• Architecture governance and standards development

• Public sector or large enterprise digital transformation experience

• Familiarity with accessibility standards and data sovereignty principles

Other Information:

• Fully remote role with core availability required between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Pacific Time

• Contract opportunity with strong potential for extension

• Competitive rate aligned with senior architecture expertise

• Contract: 12 months (with possible 12-month extension)

• Hours: 35–40 hours per week
