Overview:
Our client is seeking a hands-on Field Service Supervisor to support field service operations serving utility, industrial, and alternative energy customers. This is a working-supervisor position combining field service execution, technician supervision, customer interaction, scheduling, safety and compliance oversight, and operational support. The successful candidate will perform field sampling and related services while coordinating technicians and ensuring customer projects are completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule. A key component of the role involves sampling insulating liquids from energized and de-energized electrical equipment for laboratory analysis, along with equipment inspections, field equipment installation, and related technical services.

What you will be doing:

• Perform field sampling of insulating liquids from energized and de-energized electrical equipment.

• Provide equipment installation and related field services for utility, industrial, and alternative energy customers.

• Conduct electrical equipment inspections as required.

• Support infrared camera and partial discharge detection activities.

• Supervise field technicians performing sampling and related services.

• Coordinate work schedules to meet customer requirements and performance expectations.

• Track technician hours, projects, and field activities.

• Ensure technicians receive appropriate safety and technical training.

• Serve as a primary point of contact for customers in the field.

• Respond to technical and service-related customer questions.

• Identify additional testing, service, or product opportunities.

• Maintain required safety documentation, certifications, and compliance records.

• Support compliance with platforms such as ISNetworld and Avetta.

• Ensure proper handling and disposal of hazardous materials.

• Coordinate tools, equipment, supplies, and transportation required for field operations.

• Maintain accurate project, mileage, expense, and operating-cost documentation.

What you must have:

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.

• Previous experience in an industrial, electrical, utility, field service, or related technical environment.

• Strong mechanical aptitude.

• Previous customer-facing experience with the ability to work directly with customers in the field.

• Ability and willingness to perform hands-on field work.

• Strong organizational skills and the ability to coordinate multiple jobs and deadlines.

• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

• Ability to work independently with limited day-to-day supervision.

• Safe driving record.

• Willingness and ability to travel 50% or more, including overnight stays.

Nice to have:

• Previous supervisory, lead technician, or crew-lead experience in a field service environment.

• Experience with power transformers, substations, electrical testing, transformer maintenance, or electrical utility equipment.

• Experience collecting transformer insulating-oil samples or supporting dissolved gas analysis (DGA) programs.

• Experience with infrared thermography.

• Experience with partial discharge detection equipment.

• Familiarity with ISNetworld and/or Avetta.

• Experience working around energized electrical equipment.

• Experience supporting utility, industrial, renewable energy, or electrical power customers.

Salary/Rate Range: $40-$50/hour, with some flexibility for qualified candidates.

Other Information:

• Travel: 50%+ with overnight travel required

• This position also offers overtime opportunities, providing additional earning potential.
