Licensed Practical Nurse / Licensed Vocational Nurse (LPN/LVN)

We are seeking an experienced Licensed Practical Nurse/Licensed Vocational Nurse (LPN/LVN) to provide direct patient care and clinical support in a collaborative healthcare environment. This position requires strong medication administration, treatment, patient assessment, emergency response, and electronic documentation experience.

Monday-Friday
1:45 PM-10:15 PM
40 hours per week

Rate: 37/hr and 41/hr for traveler

Responsibilities

• Administer medications in accordance with established medication administration procedures and medication rights to ensure patient safety.

• Complete medication refills according to provider orders and established policies and procedures.

• Provide direct nursing care to patients based on their healthcare needs and established individualized plans of care.

• Perform point-of-care specimen collection and testing, including phlebotomy.

• Administer vaccines and other intramuscular (IM) and subcutaneous (SubQ) medications within scope of practice.

• Provide routine nursing treatments, including but not limited to:

  • Wound care and dressing changes

  • Enema administration

  • Topical medication application

  • Colostomy care

  • Surgical preparation procedures

  • Other treatments as ordered by the provider

• Observe and monitor patients during and following treatments and promptly report observations, changes in condition, and treatment outcomes to the Registered Nurse and/or Advanced Practice Provider.

• Recognize patients experiencing physiological distress and provide appropriate emergency interventions in accordance with BLS standards and applicable scope of practice.

• Maintain accurate, timely, and complete documentation of all patient care, treatments, medications, and clinical encounters within the electronic healthcare record (EHR).

• Follow established infection prevention, patient safety, medication administration, and clinical care protocols.

• Collaborate effectively with Registered Nurses, providers, and other members of the healthcare team to support continuity and quality of patient care.

Required Qualifications

• Current and unrestricted LPN/LVN license as required by the state of practice.

• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

• Previous experience administering medications and following established medication safety protocols.

• Experience providing direct patient care and following individualized plans of care.

• Experience with phlebotomy and point-of-care specimen collection.

• Experience administering vaccines and IM/SubQ medications.

• Experience performing routine nursing treatments, including wound care.

• Ability to recognize changes in patient condition and respond appropriately to urgent or emergency situations.

• Proficiency with electronic healthcare records and clinical documentation.

• Strong communication, organizational, and patient care skills.

• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
