Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

Job Title: Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) 

Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN)/Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) contract assignment. This position will primarily support medication administration and medication management within a correctional healthcare environment.
Schedule

• Up to 40 hours per week

• 5x8 schedule

• Scheduled hours: 1:00 PM – 9:30 PM

• Weekend and holiday rotation required

What you will be doing:

• Administer staff-controlled medications to patients within designated cell halls.

• Pass Keep on Person (KOP) medications in accordance with facility policies and procedures.

• Audit medication carts to ensure medications are properly maintained, organized, and accounted for.

• Coordinate and move medications when patients are transferred between cells, units, or buildings.

• Maintain accurate medication administration records and required documentation.

• Follow all established medication management, security, and patient safety protocols.

• Communicate effectively with nursing staff and other members of the healthcare team.

• Perform other nursing duties as assigned based on facility needs.

What you must have:

• Current and unrestricted LVN/LPN license in the state of practice.

• Experience with medication administration and medication management preferred.

• Ability to work effectively in a secure/correctional healthcare environment.

• Strong attention to detail, organization, and documentation skills.

• Ability to work the required weekend and holiday rotation.
