Overview:
Client is currently seeking a Sr. Development Engineer to join their leading-edge thermoelectric engineering team in Austin, Texas. This role will integrate technical expertise and complex problem-solving ability to lead new product development activities. The individual will report to the Sr. Engineering Manager and is responsible for addressing engineering challenges and ensuring they meet industry standards and regulatory requirements.
What you will be doing:

Maintain detailed process records and develop DFMEA/PFMEA documentation

Develop and execute DOEs for the development of thermoelectric devices
-
Utilize statistical tools and structured approaches such as 8D and 5-Why for root cause analysis
-
Work in a cross-functional team of Operations, Product, and other Engineering groups.

Support/lead new equipment procurement and associated process development
-
Hands-on approach with a focus on continuous improvement through creative problem solving
What you must have:
-
BS in Electrical, Mechanical engineering or equivalent field, Advanced degree is desirable.

5-10 years’ SMT or microelectronics assembly or semiconductor related work experience; knowledge of thermoelectric devices preferred.

Excellent verbal communication and technical writing skills
-
Thrives in a fast-paced environment with occasional weekend work.

Experience working in a SMT or microelectronics assembly line, either in a production or a development capacity

Hands-on experience in some or all the following process steps: Dicing, Pick and Place, Die Attach, Soldering, Reflow, Lapping, Wire Bonding.

Capability to rapidly learn and become a subject matter expert on these operations.

Software Requirements – Experience with SolidWorks, AutoCAD or other equivalent software is desirable

Working knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC) systems

Experience standing up low-volume, high mix production processes and tracking systems
