Position: Outside Sales Representative

Location: Coquitlam, BC

Our client is seeking an Outside Sales Representative to join their growing team. This role will focus primarily on the metal framing side of the business, working with contractors, fabricators, and other industrial clients throughout the region.

This opportunity is ideal for someone with hands-on industry experience who is ready to transition off the tools and into a sales career. UBS is specifically looking for candidates who understand the products, the job sites, and the customer base, and who can build credibility quickly with clients.

The successful candidate will begin in an inside sales capacity for approximately three months to learn the company’s products, systems, and processes before transitioning into a full outside sales role.

The company prides itself on developing talent internally and is looking for someone who is open to learning and being trained in the “(company) way” of selling and supporting clients.


Key Responsibilities

Prospecting and Lead Generation

  • Identify and pursue new customers through research, networking, and outreach.

Client Relationship Management & Site Visits

  • Build and maintain strong client relationships through regular communication and on-site visits.

Sales Presentations & Negotiation

  • Conduct product presentations, negotiate pricing and terms, and close sales opportunities.

Market Research

  • Stay informed on industry trends, competitor activity, and market conditions.

Reporting & Sales Targets

  • Track sales activities and progress through internal systems while working toward achieving sales targets.


Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Construction related experience, Professional and ready to step into Sales

  • Strong knowledge of construction materials and related markets

  • Proven ability to build long-term client relationships

  • Strong negotiation and communication skills

  • Ability to adapt to market conditions and customer needs

  • Comfortable working with technology to track sales activity and manage accounts

  • Must be able to credibly speak with contractors and industry clients due to hands-on background.

  • After onboarding, the role will transition into a full outside sales position managing accounts and developing new business.
