Overview:
The Electronics Engineer will join the Electronic Systems Integration (ESI) team on new construction projects at the company shipyards. The Electronics Engineer participates in all phases of new construction design projects including: requirements decomposition, design, analysis, material specification and selection, engineering execution, and engineering close-out activities. This role is also responsible for liaison with internal and external partner design teams to ensure that the Electronics design is produced in accordance with the current equipment information and the production design standards and procedures.
What you will be doing:

Provides engineering and design expertise in assigned areas of Electronics by preparing design and calculation packages to ensure contract design requirements are met.

Supports the Manager, Electronics Engineering by providing mentorship and guidance to junior engineers.

Develops and/or reviews design documents for fisheries, icebreaking, and naval replenishment vessels in order to achieve customer, Classification Society and regulatory approval.

Develops material specifications and bills of material in accordance with the company material strategies and customer requirements.

Provide technical direction to suppliers and subcontractors related to the Electronics Systems design

Works independently without requiring oversight from more experienced team members.

Contributes to analysis of information, design of engineering solutions, drafting of engineering standards and specs

Coordinates work of others and inspects quality of engineering

What you must have:
-
Fully competent, registered engineer (P.Eng.)

5+ years of post-secondary experience in Engineering

Strong communication and interpersonal competencies

Degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering or related discipline.

5 or more years of experience in a system engineering environment, ideally in the defence or shipbuilding industry.

Experience working with a diverse integrated project team is considered an asset.

P.Eng. is required (or EGBC registration and qualified to apply for P.Eng.)

Able to obtain a Canadian Reliability security clearance.
Salary/Rate Range: $45.00 - $55.00 per hour
