Overview:
The incumbent will work at the Montreal Head Office and report to the Vice President, Tax. The incumbent will manage and supervise the Canadian taxation group including income and sales tax. The incumbent will undertake various tax planning and special projects as required.  


What you will be doing:

• Timely and accurate reporting of the Canadian subsidiaries’ income tax provision, including documentation of significant tax positions

• Timely and accurate completion and filing of the Canadian subsidiaries’ corporate income tax returns

• Timely and accurate compliance with Canadian Federal and provincial sales tax statutes

• Representation of the corporate tax function in strategic Canadian and cross border transactions

• Management of Canadian audits conducted by the various taxing authorities to include issue development, negotiation and resolution

• Efficient management of outside technical advisers and consultants

• Development of inter-departmental relations sufficient to carry out the strategic mission of the tax department function

 
What you must have:

• Strong tax technical skills

• Good organizational and managerial, inter-personal and communication skills.

• Strong negotiating skills.

• Known for his/her leadership skills

• An expert knowledge of the Canadian Income Tax Act; minimum of 10 years business experience (with a minimum of 3 years in a management position

• A master’s in taxation or completion of the CICA in-depth tax course and significant continuing education.

• Professional accounting designation

Salary/Rate Range: $150,000.00 - $165,000.00
