Overview:
A leading manufacturing organization is seeking an Environmental, Health, Safety, and Quality (EHSQ) Manager to oversee and lead compliance and continuous improvement efforts in a plant-based setting. The ideal candidate will drive a proactive culture of safety, environmental responsibility, and quality excellence while aligning with both regulatory requirements and internal performance standards.


What you will be doing:
Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS):

  • Develop and implement EHS policies and programs to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.

  • Conduct risk assessments and lead initiatives to mitigate workplace hazards.

  • Lead incident investigations, analyze trends, and support corrective/preventive actions.

  • Maintain OSHA logs and serve as the point of contact during external audits and inspections.

  • Deliver safety training and oversee contractor safety and visitor compliance.

  • Support the development of job-specific safety training and orientation.

  • Manage environmental reporting and ensure all permits and documentation are current.

  • Chair the plant’s safety committee and communicate safety updates across departments.

  • Manage the EHS budget and lead safety incentive and recognition programs.

Quality Assurance

  • Lead the plant's quality assurance program in accordance with customer and regulatory standards.

  • Manage quality control documentation, nonconformance investigations, and corrective actions.

  • Coordinate customer complaint investigations and ensure timely resolution through root cause analysis.

  • Use data-driven analysis to support continuous improvement and optimize production quality.

  • Oversee internal audits and support compliance with ISO and other relevant standards.

  • Conduct training programs to align staff with quality processes and expectations.

  • Represent the facility during external quality audits and with customer inquiries.


What you must have:

  • Proven experience in EHS and Quality Management in a manufacturing or industrial setting.

  • Strong working knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and quality system requirements (e.g., ISO 9001).

  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage compliance initiatives.

  • Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Education:

Bachelor’s Degree in one or more of the following:

  • Occupational Health & Safety

  • Environmental Science/Engineering

  • Industrial Engineering

  • Quality Management

  • Operations or Manufacturing Management

  • Chemical or Mechanical Engineering

Certifications (Preferred):

  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) – BCSP

  • Occupational Health and Safety Technician (OHST) – BCSP

  • ISO 9001 Lead Auditor

  • Certified Manager of Quality/Organizational Excellence (CMQ/OE) – ASQ

  • Six Sigma Green or Black Belt

  • OSHA 30-Hour General Industry Certification

Desired Skills:

  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, and Continuous Improvement practices

  • Strong foundation in regulatory compliance, including ISO 14001 and relevant environmental standards

  • Skilled in incident investigation, risk assessment, and preventive strategy development


Salary/Rate Range: $70,000 - $90,000
