Overview:
Our client in Winnipeg, MB is looking for an ERP Solution Architect resource for a 10+ month contract to start with the possibility of extensions, reference 217-0525. The position can be remote, located anywhere in Canada.


What you will be doing:

  • Lead the design of a new Tier 1 ERP and provide architecture oversight during the various implementation stages, in coordination with system integrator vendors.

During the identification and scoping stage

  • ???????Lead cross-functional technical teams, aligning ERP solutions with business objectives and capabilities, and presenting complex technical solutions to executive stakeholders and key decision makers.

  • Define vendor-agnostic ERP solution design and produce technical architecture design artifacts.

  • Assist with the production of technical documentation and non-functional requirements to support the selection and evaluation of technology solutions.

  • Support activities related to the RFP for the selection of technology, as required.

  • Align ERP design and architecture with overall Enterprise Architecture across the organization, including adherence and compliance to architecture principles and standards.

During the implementation stage

  • Once vendor is awarded, work with software vendor and system integrator vendors to produce target state ERP architecture and design deliverables.

  • Contribute to planning activities for ERP implementation project(s).

  • Provide oversight of ERP architecture and design deliverables produced during implementation.

  • Provide design oversight of ERP integration interfaces to existing line of business and legacy applications, to ensure co-existence with existing environments.

  • Provide design oversight of ERP databases and data stores to enable high quality data for planning and decision-making.

  • Define standards and best practices to be adopted for the implementation and support of the ERP applications.

  • Provide recommendations for optimizing the ERP applications.

  • Ensure alignment of ERP design and architecture with overall Enterprise Architecture across the organization, including adherence and compliance to architecture principles and standards.

  • Assist with development of ERP governance frameworks and technical support and sustainment models.


What you must have:

  • ERP Expertise: Generalist who has hands-on experience with various Tier 1 ERP platforms such as SAP S/4HANA, Oracle ERP Cloud, Workday, Microsoft Dynamics 365, and other Tier 1 ERP platforms.

  • Solution Architecture: End-to-end ERP solution design, integration, and deployment.  The focus will be on building a combination of on-premises and cloud solutions using loose coupling principles.

  • Data Driven: Have a strong understanding of how to design data driven solutions that support data driven decision making. 

  • Technical Leadership: Managing and mentoring technical teams, fostering best practices in ERP implementations.

  • Business & IT Alignment: Translating business needs into scalable and efficient ERP solutions.

  • Stakeholder Communication: Strong ability to present ERP roadmaps, ERP architecture, and technical concepts to C-level executives and non-technical audiences.

  • Cloud & Digital Transformation: Experience in ERP migrations, cloud adoption, cloud security and emerging technologies such as AI.

  • Regulatory & Compliance: Ensuring ERP solutions meet industry standards and regulatory requirements.

  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.

  • Excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills.

  • Ability to management multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Critical thinking and problem-solving mindset. 

Required Experience and Education

  • Over 15+ years' experience as a software or enterprise architect.

  • Over 7+ years of experience designing and implementing enterprise-wide Tier 1 ERP solutions across multiple industries, ensuring seamless integration with existing IT landscapes.  Experience with multi-cloud and on premises deployment models with the ability to develop integration strategies for ERP with third-party systems, could solutions, and APIs.

  • Experience with ERP migration, upgrade, or greenfield implementation projects.

  • Knowledge of databases, middleware, and API-based architectures.

  • Experience with implementing standard architectural frameworks, i.e. TOGAF

  • Experience leading technical teams of ERP consultants, architects, and analysts to deliver high-impact projects on time and within budget.

  • Experience providing strategic guidance on ERP selection, customization, and cloud migration, optimizing business processes for efficiency and scalability.

  • Experience as a trusted advisor to C-suite executives, delivering executive-level presentations and influencing strategic IT decisions.

  • Experience developing ERP governance frameworks, ensuring system reliability, security, and compliance with industry regulations.

  • Past experience championing the adoption of best practices in ERP development, configuration, and data management.

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, Business Administration, or related field.

  • Preferred Certifications: SAP Certified Technology Professional, Oracle ERP Cloud Certification, Microsoft Dynamics 365 Solution Architect Expert, TOGAF, PMP.

 Additional Requirements

  • Preferred Industry Experience:  Retail and Wholesale Distribution.

  • Public sector experience preferred.

  • Must have Windows laptop with standard Windows applications.

  • Laptop must be configured for Microsoft Teams meetings and capable of connecting to MBLL’s Microsoft 365 environment and applications such as Teams, Sharepoint, and OneDrive. 

  • All applicants must clear a background check.

  • A Canadian based federal security clearance is considered an asset

  • Must possess own communications device
