What you will be doing:

Oversee the general accounting operations for all managed properties, including general ledger, bank reconciliations, and journal entries.

Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for all managed properties.

Supervise accounts payable, accounts receivable, and rent roll processes; ensure timely collection and payment cycles.

Review and approve all invoices, reconciliations, and financial transactions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and client requirements.

Manage cash flow projections, capital and operating budgets, and financial forecasts for each property and the corporate entity.

Coordinate annual audit processes and work closely with external auditors and tax advisors.

Ensure compliance with relevant tax, regulatory, and reporting requirements, including GST, payroll, and remittances.

Oversee month-end and year-end close processes; prepare working papers and supporting documentation.

Develop and maintain internal controls, accounting procedures, and best practices.

Support senior leadership and property managers with financial analysis, reporting, and variance explanations.

Respond to owner, investor, and lender inquiries regarding financial matters.

Support the implementation and optimization of accounting and property management software systems (e.g., Yardi Breeze Premiere, MRI, Buildium etc.).
What you must have:

Post-secondary degree or diploma in accounting, finance, or related field.

Minimum [5+] years progressive accounting experience.

Experience in property management, real estate, or related industry is strongly preferred.

Strong understanding of Canadian accounting standards (ASPE or IFRS), tax compliance, and regulatory reporting.

Proficient with accounting and property management software (Yardi, MRI, AppFolio, QuickBooks, etc.).

Advanced Excel and analytical skills.

Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and time management abilities.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work collaboratively across departments.

Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Salary/Rate Range: $90,000 - $100,000
