We are working with a global leader in analytical instrumentation expanding its presence across North America. We are supporting them in adding an experienced Technical Sales Representative to their Western US team. This person will drive growth by developing new business, expanding relationships with existing accounts, and serving as a trusted technical resource for customers in research, industrial, and academic environments.

About the Role

Reporting directly to the National Sales Manager, the Technical Sales Representative will be responsible for executing a territorial business plan and driving profitable sales across a multi-state region. The role combines technical consultation with full-cycle sales execution, from lead generation through contract close.

Territory: Western US (CA, OR, WA, ID, MT, HI, AK) – Remote/Field Based
Key Responsibilities

Consistently achieve or exceed sales targets for revenue, growth, and account penetration

Develop new business opportunities by identifying prospects and converting competitive accounts

Manage the complete sales cycle, including proposals, pricing, negotiations, and closing deals

Build trusted relationships with scientists, purchasing decision-makers, and channel partners

Act as the key link between customers, service engineers, and after-sales teams to ensure exceptional customer experience

Represent the company at trade shows, industry events, and customer demonstrations

Collaborate with sales leadership and global marketing to forecast trends and identify opportunities

Maintain accurate pipeline activity in the CRM system
About you

B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. in a scientific discipline (Chemistry, Biology, or related)

5+ years of technical or capital equipment sales experience (HPLC, GC, Mass Spec, elemental analysis, or related instrumentation a plus)

Strong business development and relationship-building skills with a consultative approach

Comfortable working independently in a remote/field-based role

Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills

CRM proficiency (SAP experience an asset) and strong Microsoft Office skills

Willingness to travel up to 50% across a multi-state territory
