Overview:
The Specialist/Engineer II shall support the electrical design of the 3D model. The Specialist/Engineer ensures integration of the electrical cable systems into the ship and performance of the system through the ship delivery.
What you will be doing:

3D modelling of cable tray, penetrations and electrical equipment in CADMATIC (3DM Software)

Cable routing within the 3D environment and producing manufacturing drawings

Contributes to the design of engineering solutions; designs the feasibility testing approach and supervises its implementation to support the development and validation of engineering solutions.

Carries out a range of activities under the guidance of more senior colleagues to support the drafting of engineering standards and specifications and the evaluation of the effectiveness of those standards.

Carries out inspections under the supervision of senior colleagues to evaluate the quality of engineering works and / or the integrity of existing installations or structures and makes recommendations to senior colleagues on the remedial works needed to ensure conformance with specifications and regulatory requirements.

Performs additional duties as assigned.
What you must have:
-
Technologist diploma or Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering discipline.

At least 2 years of post-secondary experience in Engineering, preferably with knowledge of ship/maritime systems, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

3D Modeling and Autocad experience working on arrangement and layouts
-
Experience working with a diversely integrated project team is considered an asset.
Skills, Knowledge and Competencies
-
3D Modeling and Autocad Drafting of layouts and arrangements
-
Technical writing skills including the ability to produce and present clear, detailed written technical specifications, procedures, and reports.

Knowledge of MRP, purchasing and management systems is preferred.

Understanding of 3D Model and ACAD software, document control systems and databases.

Ability to work effectively across a multi-disciplined team.

Ability to work without supervision and provide technical guidance on how to get results using new and advanced engineering technologies.

Organizational and interpersonal skills.

Committed to a high standard of safety and able to follow all safety laws and all the employer's safety policies and rules.

Proficient computer skills. Working knowledge of basic Microsoft Office 2010 software suite (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint).
Salary/Rate Range: $42.00 -$52.00 per hour
