What you will be doing:
You will lead the advancement of dry-type LV transformer technologies up to 2MVA with an emphasis on:

Improving system efficiency and reducing lifecycle energy losses

Designing with sustainable materials and lower environmental footprint

Standardizing platforms to reduce waste and optimize manufacturing

Supporting electrification projects across renewable, industrial, commercial and clean-tech sectors

Enhancing safety and reliability for mission-critical clean-power applications

Implementing smart design rules and digital configuration for rapid deployment

Reducing quote-to-manufacture cycles to accelerate renewable projects globally

You will collaborate directly with cross-functional engineering, operations, and commercial teams to ensure product designs align with customer sustainability objectives and global ESG commitments.
What you must have:

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Electromechanical Engineering (P.Eng or eligibility preferred)

5+ years experience designing power or distribution transformers; deep knowledge of air-cooled dry-type systems

Expert understanding of magnetics and design-for-manufacture principles

Strong grasp of certification and compliance standards (UL, CSA, IEEE, NEMA, CE)

Practical experience in R&D or product development in a factory environment

Aptitude for implementing design improvements that reduce cost, weight, and energy loss

Experience with power electronics, harmonics, or phase-shift configurations an asset

Advanced software and drafting skills (OPS or comparable design suite, AutoCAD, data tools)

Passion for sustainable engineering, efficiency, and continuous improvement
Salary/Rate Range: $130,000.00 - $150,000.00
