Overview:
Our government client in Regina, SK is looking for a Disaster Recovery Consultant for an initial 12-month contract, with an option for 3 x 1yr extensions, reference #C19003702. Local candidates are preferred but this position can be remote, anywhere in Canada.
What you will be doing:
Our client is currently looking for one (1) Disaster Recovery Consultant Resource to support the IT Service Continuity branch in the ongoing enhancement of its Disaster Recovery program, advancing program maturity and developing the processes and tools needed to ensure they remain resilient against IT disasters.

Establishment and oversight of a comprehensive disaster recovery program, ensuring resilience and continuity of eHealth services.

Facilitating the creation of a specialized practice area dedicated to monitoring and assessing disaster recovery performance.

Driving continuous improvements within the disaster recovery realm, ensuring rapid response and minimal service disruption.

Collaborating with cross-functional teams to integrate disaster recovery principles into broader strategies.

Providing guidance, mentorship, and leadership to teams, ensuring that disaster recovery protocols are adhered to, and best practices are consistently implemented.

Evaluating and recommending technologies and methodologies that enhance disaster recovery capabilities, making certain of preparedness in face of adversities
What you must have:

Have a bachelor's or master's degree in Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field.

Have a minimum of eight (8) years experience in program management, with a specific focus onmdisaster recovery and business continuity planning.

Demonstrated experience in establishing and refining disaster recovery programs for large-scale organizations or government entities.

Proficient in monitoring and evaluating disaster recovery solutions and performance metrics.

Strong knowledge of current disaster recovery best practices, technologies, and trends.

Leadership skills with the ability to drive cross-functional teams and external partners towards performance excellence.

Experience in facilitating workshops, training sessions, and stakeholder meetings focused on disaster recovery strategies and performance improvements

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to adapt to rapidly changing environments.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of translating technical language into understandable terms for non-technical stakeholders.

Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks, manage budgets, and deploy resources effectively in high-pressure situations.

Professional Project Management (PMP) designation is desirable
