Overview:
Our client is seeking a Business Analyst to act as the strategic bridge between HR business stakeholders and HR Technology / Service Delivery teams. This role will lead end-to-end requirements gathering, business process analysis, and documentation efforts to translate complex HR operational needs into scalable, optimized solutions within a Workday HCM environment. The successful candidate will conduct current- and future-state process mapping across the full employee lifecycle, facilitate cross-functional discovery sessions across HR functions, and deliver detailed functional and technical specifications to support workflow configuration, standardization, and continuous improvement of people operations.


What you will be doing:
Business Process Design & Documentation

  • Analyze, map, and document current-state and future-state HR business processes and workflows

  • Identify opportunities for process optimization, automation, and standardization

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation including process flows, SOPs, and configuration guides

Requirements Gathering & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Partner with HR functional areas including HR Operations, Payroll, Talent Acquisition, Talent Management, Diversity & Inclusion, and HR Analytics

  • Elicit, analyze, and translate business requirements into clear functional and technical specifications

  • Facilitate discovery sessions, workshops, and cross-functional design reviews

  • Manage competing priorities and communicate trade-offs to technical and non-technical stakeholders

  • Leverage AI tools to support requirements gathering, analysis, and documentation (experience with tools such as Microsoft Copilot or similar preferred)

Expected Deliverables

  • Future-State Process Maps

  • Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)

  • Process Optimization Roadmap

  • Data Migration & Integration Requirements

  • Workflow Diagrams and Documentation


What you must have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or professional BA certification (CCBA, CBAP, or equivalent)

  • 6+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, HRIS Analyst, or similar role

  • Hands-on experience with Workday HCM (Core HCM required; Advanced Reporting and Workday Studio preferred)

  • Strong understanding of HR processes across the employee lifecycle (onboarding, compensation, benefits, payroll, talent management, offboarding)

  • Demonstrated expertise in workflow design and business process mapping (Visio, Lucidchart, or similar tools)

  • Experience facilitating stakeholder interviews and cross-functional workshops

  • Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Nice to have:

  • Workday Pro certification (HCM, Reporting, or Integrations)

  • Experience working within an HR department or regulated/financial services environment

  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies

  • Exposure to additional Workday modules (Recruiting, Learning, Compensation, Advanced Compensation)

  • Experience with data migration, security configuration, or EIB development

  • Background in change management or end-user training
