Overview:
A growing, multi-entity transportation and logistics organization based in the Greater Vancouver Area is seeking a hands-on Controller / Senior Accountant to lead and oversee full-cycle accounting operations across multiple operating entities and provinces. This role is ideal for a seasoned accounting professional who is comfortable operating independently, building structure, and partnering with leadership to ensure financial accuracy, compliance, and operational visibility. The position reports directly to senior leadership and plays a key role in maintaining strong financial controls and supporting business growth.
What you will be doing:
Accounting & Financial Oversight

Oversee the full accounting cycle across multiple entities

Prepare monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements

Maintain general ledger integrity and account reconciliations

Manage intercompany transactions across multiple provinces

Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal controls
Accounts Payable & Receivable
-
Oversee accounts payable, vendor payments, and expense management

Review accounts receivable processes, invoicing accuracy, and collections support

Maintain and improve internal approval workflows
Payroll & Remittances
-
Oversee payroll processing for multi-province staff

Manage payroll deductions, source deductions, and statutory remittances

Ensure compliance with provincial and federal payroll regulations
GST & Government Filings

Prepare and file GST returns and related remittances

Manage WCB, EHT (where applicable), and other statutory filings

Liaise with external accountants, auditors, and government agencies
Financial Reporting & Leadership

Support budgeting and forecasting processes

Provide financial insights and reporting to senior leadership

Recommend process improvements and system enhancements

Assist in strengthening policies and financial controls as the organization grows
What you must have:

CPA designation (preferred) or equivalent senior-level accounting experience

5+ years of progressive accounting experience

Experience managing full-cycle accounting in a multi-entity environment

Strong understanding of payroll, GST, and Canadian compliance requirements

Experience with intercompany accounting

Advanced proficiency in accounting software and Excel

Strong organizational skills and ability to operate independently
