Overview:
The Communication Coordinator Level 1 performs communication activities for project communications, change management, and stakeholder engagement to deliver actionable information to a broad range of internal and external stakeholders.
What you will be doing:

Provides implementation coordination and support for grant and sponsorship programs by performing duties such as: evaluating value of applications and requests against established criteria, preparing external communications to community organizations; fielding program enquiries; evaluating grant applications and processing applications for selection; preparing a short list of grant and sponsorship recommendations for management approval; and writing communications to applicants indicating approval or decline of application.

Updates and maintains funding application tracking database. Reviews and reconciles external on-line applications; manages back-end application data; prepares monthly funding reports and year-end program report, providing ongoing liaison with all external applicants and internal teams.

Supports the company scholarships programs - reviewing, filing and tracking applications, maintaining working relationships with staff at administering institutions and coordinating annual payments to institutions.

Supports annual Employee Giving program coordinating campaign logistics, working with other teams across the company, coordinating communications schedules and tracking, Working with creative services to update campaign collateral.

Support Community Volunteering program with tracking volunteer requests, providing monthly reports, drafting program communications.

Data entry, reporting compiling, program tracking in excel, digital file management, drafting emails to program applicants, conducts program research
What you must have:

A minimum three (3) years of experience with demonstrated skills and knowledge of public affairs, research, program and event development and implementation.

Experience in supporting communications and event management processes

Assist in the planning, development, and implementation of communications products and programs or planning events designed for specific and targeted employee, public and customer audiences.

Research and analyze audience needs and requirements and plan communications programs to meet objectives.

Collaborate with stakeholder partners and support BC Hydro’s internal public involvement teams. Additional Education and Skills

Additional coursework in consultation, marketing or research delivered through IAP2, BCAMA, IABC or CPRS or other
Salary/Rate Range: $24.00 -$30.00 per hour
Term: 6-month contract; most likely to extend
