What  you will be doing:
The Satellite Flight Software System Engineer will perform and participate in the following activities, depending on the candidate’s background and experience:

• Support mission analysis, planning, and requirements

• System architecture and technical responsibility for communication or remote sensing satellites, including:

  • Specification of software functions and features in accordance with mission requirements in collaboration with the avionics team

  • Management of payload embedded software functions and interfaces

  • Support database and FDIR definition

  • Verification and validation of flight software from SIL to HIL

    • Write test and validation plans and test requirements

  • Anomaly analysis and bug reporting

• Support Space Segment and Ground Segment ICDs for end-to-end systems

• Requirements definition and flow-down, SOC, verification, and validation matrix

• Support all program reviews, including EQSR, SRR, PDR, CDR, and TRR

• Support integration and test phase activities

What you must have:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering in a relevant field with 7+ years of relevant experience

• Previous system design and testing experience with Flight Software for LEO/MEO/GEO satellites

• Relevant experience working with CCSDS, ECSS, and PUS services

• Strong understanding of spacecraft avionics subsystems, such as AOCS

• Understanding of 1553, SpaceWire, RS422/485, CAN, and Ethernet

• Experience with real-time cores and/or embedded Linux, Matlab/Simulink

• Understanding of the space environment and orbit mechanics

• Strong understanding of space systems engineering fundamentals

• Experience with qualification and acceptance testing of new designs

• High degree of attention to detail

• Demonstrated capability to efficiently work with little to no supervision

• Ability to distill complex problems to fundamentals and solve them through analysis, similarity, or creativity

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in an English and French working environment

• Experience leading and coaching a technical team

Salary/ Rate Range: $115,000.00 - $160,000.00
