Overview:
The E4 – Engineer is a professional engineer or geoscientist who applies engineering knowledge to provide engineering, estimating, planning, and quality management services for medium complexity projects and/or operations safely, with quality, within budget, and on time.
What you will be doing:

Assist in the development of engineering design documentation, including design basis reports, scopes of work, construction work packages, and material take-offs.

Develop, review, and coordinate civil engineering design drawings, technical specifications, and contract documents.

Coordinate with multidisciplinary design teams to ensure alignment with project requirements, constructability, and schedule objectives.

Support route selection studies and identify potential conflicts during daylighting and early project investigation phases.

Perform constructability assessments and participate in inspections throughout various stages of the project lifecycle.

Provide engineering support during construction, including responding to Requests for Information (RFIs), Substitution/Equivalency Request (SRQ’s), issuing field instructions, and conducting field reviews on behalf of the Engineer of Record.

Conduct regular construction site inspections to verify compliance with approved drawings, technical specifications, codes, and applicable standards.

Perform design reviews, construction inspections, and contract administration duties as required.

Carry out reviews of contractor’s deliverables to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project and regulatory requirements.

Prepare and maintain accurate project documentation, including site inspection reports, field review reports, deficiency lists, and inspection logs.

Document construction progress, non-conformances, and corrective actions, and communicate findings to the project team.

Assist with commissioning activities and the preparation of project close-out documentation, including as-built drawings, design conformance certificate and Construction Completion reports.

Liaise with construction management, contractors, consultants, and other stakeholders to support safe, compliant, and successful project delivery.

Promote and enforce health, safety, and environmental (HSE) requirements on site, ensuring work is performed in compliance with safety regulations, BC Hydro policies, and project specific safety plans.
What you must have:

Registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) or Professional Geoscientist (P.Geo.) with Engineers & Geoscientists BC or with another jurisdiction and eligible for registration as such with Engineers & Geoscientists BC

The company uses a Digital Sign and Seal Technology. You may be required to subscribe to a digital seal technology service offered by Notarius

Intermediate English skills for professional environment, written and spoken

Familiarity with CAD systems and drawing standards

Ability to use standard industry design/analysis software

Intermediate MS Office skills (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
Salary/Rate Range: $67.00 -$83.00 per hour
Term: 12-months contract most likely to extend
