Overview:
Elevate your critical care career in an intimate, high-functioning 12-bed ICU. This role is designed for a skilled Registered Nurse who thrives in a fast-paced environment featuring a heavy emphasis on cardiac interventions and complex medical cases. You will join a supportive multidisciplinary team—complete with 24/7 Respiratory Therapy and House Supervisor support—dedicated to delivering 1:2 patient ratios. Whether you are managing advanced drips or recovery for post-cardiac cath patients, you will have the autonomy and tools needed to provide life-saving care.


What you will be doing:

  • Critical Care Excellence: Manage a diverse patient load including STEMIs, ARDS, Sepsis, Renal Failure, and DKA.

  • Cardiac Specialization: Provide expert care for post-cardiac intervention patients (Left Heart Caths, Coronary Interventions, IVUS, IFR/FFR).

  • Advanced Intervention Support: Assist with and manage care for patients requiring Temporary Pacemaker Insertion, IABP, and A-lines.

  • Ventilator & Sedation Management: Monitor and adjust care for ventilated patients and those under sedation (ETOH/OD protocols).

  • Pharmacological Expertise: Titrate common critical care drips including Levophed, Propofol, Precedex, Insulin, and weight-based Heparin.

  • Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Partner with on-unit Respiratory Therapists, Patient Care Technicians, and Health Unit Secretaries to ensure seamless patient throughput.

 


What you must have:

  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of professional ICU experience.

  • Licensure/Certifications:

    • Current Registered Nurse License.

    • ACLS and BLS (American Heart Association).

    • NIHSS Certification.

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with basic ICU equipment and hemodynamic monitoring.

 


Nice to have:

  • Cardiac Proficiency: Experience with IABP (Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump) is a plus, though not strictly required.

  • Adaptability: Ability to float to ED or Medical-Surgical units as needed (based on experience).

  • Advanced Protocols: Familiarity with hypothermia protocols and CVA post-tPA care.

  • Work Type: Full-Time | Direct Hire

  • Schedule: 12-Hour Nights (1800–0630).

  • Scheduling: Modified self-scheduling with block scheduling options; minimum 3 weekend shifts per 4-week period.
