What you will be doing:
Leadership

  • Develop and maintain a high standard of professional knowledge, ethics and practices when dealing with customers, suppliers, peers, supervisors and other employees of the company;

  • Effectively work with and communicate with other Rice sales team members on all pertinent and relevant customer information affecting their respective sales efforts;

  • Ensure compliance of all company policies and procedures related to customer service;

  • Build support and engagement for corporate / department initiatives and objectives

  • Demonstrate Rice values and commitment to Rice Vision & Mission.

Business Development

  • Remain accountable for personal Business Development objectives and performance;

  •  Ensure Business Development Measurables are achieved and/or exceed within their area of responsibility; including but not limited to:

    • Overall revenue and GM by geographic territory and division;

    •  Opportunity funnel performance, including generation through closure;

    • Identification of new customers/products/markets/revenue;

    • Territory revenue by Customer Phase, Marketing Segment & Item Class Group; 

    • “Knowing the market and how to grow it”.

Account Management

  • Remain accountable for personal Account Management objectives and performance;

  • Ensure Account Management Measurables are achieved and/or exceed within their area of responsibility;

  • Achieve and surpass sales objectives; including but not limited to;

    • Overall revenue and GM by individual accounts;

    •  Maximizing Rice wallet share by individual customer;

    • Acquiring, growing and nurturing accounts;

    • Account revenue by Customer Phase, Market Segment & Item Class Group; and

    • “Knowing the customers and how to grow them”. 

    • Execute sales activities at selected accounts and coordinate Rice’s sales activities/contacts at these accounts.

Sales, Lead & Opportunity Administration

  • Generate, maintain, manage and close all personal Opportunities throughout the Rice Sales Processes;? Be responsible for the management and performance of Leads throughout the Rice Sales Processes

  • Work to optimize all Lead & Opportunity processes and a play key role in the implementation of continual improvement;

  • Ensure all Lead & Opportunity processes and standards are fully integrated and utilized amongst the sales team.

Sales Cycle

  • Prepare personal annual sales forecasts and participate in annual budgeting;

  • Participate and remain accountable for the implementation of sales plans, strategies and tactics to achieve results;

  • Gather and share market intelligence with management to help make optimal pricing, marketing and sales decisions;

  • Complete business reviews and plans as per Rice processes;

  • Creating, managing and updating records in CRM to track progress and measure performance;

  • Enhance market awareness and acceptance of Rice products and services;

  • Ensure all sales processes and standards are fully utilized within workflow.

  • Approachable, accessible, driven and positive individual that enjoys a challenging work environment and strives on delivering consistent results. Proactive self-starter with an entrepreneurial work ethic.

  • Sales territory strategy and forecasting skills based on general business skills, market knowledge, evaluation skills, and appropriate judgment along with sound/difficult decision-making skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to proactively identify opportunities and successfully close business. Cold call as appropriate within the territory to ensure a robust pipeline of opportunities.

  • Major account management skills. Ability to deal effectively with contacts at various levels including senior management and field operations.

  • Excellent business acumen to maximize sales and profitability.

  • Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Extremely results oriented and exceptional relationship builder.

  • Technical expertise on products and technologies to interpret project requirements and to help customers with technical design/requirements and product specification creation.

  • Ability to verbally communicate openly, forcefully, clearly and concisely with individuals and groups to achieve understanding and acceptance.

  • Outstanding critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Ability to assemble all facts before making decisions yet can still make sound decisions in absence of detailed knowledge.

  • Understanding of personal strengths and weaknesses and able to initiate and establish a professional growth strategy and action plans.

  • Ability to plan, organize and complete tasks in the shortest and most efficient manner.

  • Ability to influence/work with others to achieve departmental goals.

  • Strong skills for MS Office, CRM.


Salary/Rate Range: $70,000-$90,000
