On behalf of our client, TEEMA is seeking a credit union BRANCH MANAGER located in Surrey, BC.
The Branch Manager is an expert in the financial services space; passionate about leading a team to deliver outstanding service and financial advice to our members. CORE OUTCOMES:
• Responsible for profitable growth by actively seeking new business through community development activities. Create and implement effective marketing plans for the surrounding community designed to drive membership, loan and deposit growth through collaboration with Marketing and the management team. To support the credit union goals, external business development is a key focus of this leadership role. Active participation in community events is required (positively representing and networking).
• Act as a leader, mentor and coach for the branch network team. A key player in the learning and development of your team in member service and business growth. Facilitates regular sales, service and product knowledge sessions for your team. Vigilantly look for ways to improve operational efficiencies.
• Promotes and sells our products and services, recommends changes to marketing plans, goals, policies, and strives to meet the short and long-term goals and objectives of the organization.
• Oversees the branch operations, directs the utilization of staff, equipment and facilities to exceed member expectations, ensuring adherence to established policies, procedures, and security practices.
• Contributes to the development and monitoring of goals and operating budget; reviews and analyses financial statements, credit files and associated documentation to approve loans or make recommendations to senior lending officers.
• Interviews and approves the hiring of new staff. Promotes motivation, enthusiasm, service excellence, product knowledge, and professionalism throughout the team. Responsible for valuation, discipline; awareness of operational issues and successes within the branch team. Ensures audits and controls are in place.
• Creates and executes plans to increase member awareness of products, services and our purpose. Keeps the team up to date and well informed of team performance, business development activities and the competitive landscape.
• Manages lending functions by supervising the activities of lenders and works with the team to find credible solutions. Resolves member service issues; approves mortgages, lines of credit, overdrafts and personal loans within approved limits. Identifies commercial lending opportunities and refers opportunities to the commercial loans department.
• Participates in corporate initiatives by contributing to the design and development of policy, products, services and programs;
• Performs other management related duties as required.

TECHNICAL COMPETENCY:
This position will require the following technical skills:
• 2 years post-secondary education in financial management or a related field including or supplemented by courses related to the work and considerable supervisory and administrative experience in the financial industry.
• Understanding of credit union operations including financial, lending, administrative, and other operational procedures, practices and requirements.
• Understands of the principles, practices, methods, techniques of business development
• Understands the nature, function and analysis of financial statements

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
• 5 years of branch management experience in a comprehensive financial institution environment.
• 2 years of proven capabilities in external business development.
2 years of retail lending experience.
• Equivalent combination of the above may be appropriate

Hours and expectations:
Hours: 35 hours per week. Tuesday to Saturday
Branch Hours are Tuesday- Friday Branch opens 10-5 and the Branch Manager hours are 9AM-5:15PM Tuesday-Friday
Saturday Branch opens 10-3PM
Branch Manager hours are 9AM-3:30PM Saturday

Salary and Benefits: up to $98K annually + 35 hour work week and outstanding benefits!
