What you will be doing:

• Lead preparation and review of electrical engineering deliverables including drawings, specifications, and calculations

• Develop and oversee key design outputs:

  • Electrical equipment and load lists

  • I/O lists

  • Plot plans and area classification drawings

  • Single line diagrams

  • Motor control schematics

  • Wiring diagrams and cable schedules

  • Panel schedules and equipment layouts

  • PLC control panel layouts and I/O schematics

  • Junction box wiring diagrams

  • Electric heat trace designs

• Evaluate and specify electrical and control equipment

• Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and client requirements

• Review and stamp engineering deliverables as required

Technical Leadership & Project Delivery

• Lead electrical scope across projects from design through execution

• Support planning, scheduling, and tracking of engineering deliverables

• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams

• Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior/intermediate engineers

• Participate in design reviews and technical decision-making

• Maintain high standards of quality and accuracy

Project & Client Coordination

• Act as a key technical contact for clients, vendors, and contractors

• Respond to RFIs and technical queries during execution

• Support RFQs, vendor evaluations, and procurement activities

• Assist with estimates, proposals, and project budgeting

What you must have:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering

• P.Eng designation (APEGA) or eligibility for registration

• Ability to provide engineering stamp (or operate under a permit to practice)

• Strong knowledge of electrical codes, standards, and industry best practices

• Proficiency with electrical design and calculation tools

• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

• Must be legally entitled to work in Canada

• 8–10 years of electrical engineering experience in industrial environments

• Experience in Oil & Gas or heavy industrial projects

• Proven ability to support or lead engineering scopes on projects

• Experience reviewing and approving engineering deliverables

• Exposure to stamped design work is a strong asset

Salary/Rate Range: $85.00 -$105.00 /hour
