Overview

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Sample Control Technician to support laboratory operations through sample receiving, scheduling, tracking, documentation, customer communication, and general lab coordination.

This role is well suited for someone who is organized, accurate, customer-service focused, and comfortable working in a laboratory environment where safety, communication, and attention to detail are essential.

What you will be doing

  • Receive, document, schedule, and route test samples to the appropriate laboratory departments.
  • Communicate with customers regarding order status, special requests, incomplete shipments, and samples requiring additional information.
  • Review purchase orders for accuracy against customer testing requests and escalate discrepancies as needed.
  • Maintain database records, including sample tracking history, client contact information, equipment records, and loan order tracking.
  • Clean and maintain sampling containers, glassware, test supplies, and related equipment.
  • Receive laboratory supplies and direct them to the appropriate departments.
  • Support equipment maintenance, calibration, repair, and troubleshooting activities.
  • Dispose of related hazardous materials under appropriate supervision.
  • Follow all departmental Standard Operating Procedures and related documentation.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized working environment.
  • Participate in laboratory projects, special projects, and general support assignments.
  • Perform basic analytical testing under limited supervision.
  • Provide training support to laboratory personnel as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What you must have

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • Customer service experience or related customer-facing responsibilities.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to coordinate multiple tasks.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Proficiency with computer applications, including word processing, spreadsheets, and database management.
  • Willingness to take on additional responsibilities and grow within the role.

Salary/Rate Range

$47,500 – $54,000 per year.
