Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and dependable Boiler Service Technician to join a growing service team supporting commercial and industrial boiler systems. This position is responsible for installation support, startup assistance, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and commissioning of steam and hot water boiler equipment in a variety of industrial, commercial, and institutional environments. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, safety-focused, customer-oriented, and experienced in diagnosing and resolving complex boiler and combustion system issues.
What you will be doing:

Perform startup, testing, commissioning, and preventative maintenance on natural gas, fuel oil, and light oil-fired boiler systems.

Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical, electrical, combustion, and control system issues related to boilers and auxiliary equipment.

Conduct combustion analysis and adjust fuel-to-air ratios to optimize system performance, efficiency, and emissions.

Read and interpret technical manuals, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and CAD drawings.

Complete service reports, maintenance documentation, work orders, and inspection records accurately and thoroughly.

Ensure compliance with all applicable safety regulations, industry standards, and operating procedures.

Communicate effectively with customers and internal team members regarding service findings, recommendations, and repair solutions.

Identify opportunities for equipment upgrades, efficiency improvements, and replacement components that add value to customers.

Participate in an on-call rotation and respond to emergency service requests as required.

Travel to customer sites as needed to perform service and support activities.
What you must have:

High school diploma or GED.

Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record.

Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Ability to work independently while maintaining a high level of accountability.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Proficiency with diagnostic instruments, testing equipment, and hand tools.
Physical Requirements
-
Ability to lift, carry, and maneuver tools, parts, and equipment.

Ability to work in industrial environments, mechanical rooms, rooftops, and other field service locations.

Ability to climb ladders, work at heights, crawl into confined spaces, and perform physically demanding tasks as needed.

Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and work for extended periods.
Nice to have:
-
Strong mechanical aptitude and technical troubleshooting ability.

Experience as a boiler technician, combustion technician, industrial maintenance technician, equipment mechanic, or related field service professional.

Knowledge of gas and oil combustion systems, boiler controls, electrical systems, and mechanical equipment.

Experience working with commercial or industrial steam and hot water boilers.

Familiarity with linkage-less combustion control systems such as AutoFlame, Siemens, or Fireye is highly desirable.

Knowledge of applicable industry standards, including NFPA and CSD-1 requirements.
