What you will be doing:

Preparing detailed structural engineering designs from concept, through tender to construction for a wide variety of projects including commercial, recreational, municipal, industrial, and residential buildings, in various structural materials (mass timber, light-frame wood, masonry, concrete, and steel).

Assembling and reviewing structural deliverables in collaboration with other team members
-
Reviewing and coordinating deliverables with other project team members including architectural, civil, landscape, process, mechanical, electrical, contractors and suppliers as each project requires

Actively participate in project meetings

Complete assessments and preparing reports for various buildings and structures
-
Supporting construction administration objectives and perform field reviews and follow-up reporting. This will include local travel, but may extend to remote locations, as required.

Observing and maintaining quality assurance practices and documentation standards on all projects

Complete submittal and shop drawing reviews and respond to queries that arise during construction.

Actively participating in continuous improvement initiatives

Being a lifelong learner, staying current on industry trends and emerging technologies

Collaborating with, advise, and assist team members in other groups and offices

Other related duties as assigned

Creating and/or leveraging custom spreadsheets
What you must have:
-
Registered as a P.Eng. with 6+ years of experience in design of building structural systems within the building construction industry.

Preferred experience in a consulting engineering environment
-
Demonstrated experience working collaboratively with a variety of clients and consultant team members to deliver projects successfully.

Ability to use critical thinking to evaluate which multidisciplinary team member should be contacted for project efficiency.

Knowledge and application of structural theory, the National Building Code of Canada, and Canadian Design Standards. Preferred knowledge as it would apply to wood, steel, and reinforced concrete.

Working knowledge of Bluebeam, Microsoft Word, and Excel

Familiarity with structural analysis software (e.g., SAP2000, SAFE, S-Frame, ETABS, WoodWorks Sizer or other similar)
What you must have:

Registered as a P.Eng. with 6+ years of experience in design of building structural systems within the building construction industry.
