What you will be doing:
Financial Management & Accounting Oversight

  • Oversee all accounting functions, including billing, collections, accounts payable/receivable, and trust accounting compliance

  • Supervise external accounting providers and book-keeping

  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes

  • Produce and analyze monthly financial reports, KPIs, and variance analyses

  • Monitor firm profitability and matter-level economics

  • Manage cash flow and working capital

  • Coordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, and financial institutions

  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory and law society financial requirements

Firm Operations & Administration

  • Oversee daily administrative operations, including external HR and IT service providers

  • Develop and implement firm policies, procedures, onboarding processes and operational best practices  

  • Identify and drive process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costs

  • Support partners in strategic planning and execution

Practice Support & Performance Management

  • Help implement and manage practice management and financial systems

Strategic & Leadership Role

  • Act as a trusted advisor to the partnership on operational and financial matters

  • Participate in firm leadership meetings and contribute to long-term strategy

  • Lead special projects (e.g., technology upgrades, office expansion, process redesign)

  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement


What you must have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field or relevant accounting designation.

  • 5+ years of experience in operations and/or financial management, ideally in a law firm or professional services environment

  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, trust accounting and compliance, financial reporting, and budgeting

  • Experience with legal billing systems, trust accounting, and law firm KPIs is highly desirable

  • Demonstrated leadership and team management experience

  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills

  • High level of discretion and professionalism


Salary/Rate Range: $125,000.00 - $155,000.00
