Overview:
Our client is seeking a Business Development Manager – Grid / Line Monitoring Solutions to identify and develop new business opportunities for advanced online grid monitoring sensors used for fault detection, diagnostics, real-time monitoring, AAR/ALR line-rating applications, and SCADA integration.

This role focuses on understanding utility and grid-monitoring challenges, building strategic customer and industry relationships, and positioning sensor-based monitoring technologies as trusted solutions for improving grid reliability, fault visibility, and real-time asset monitoring.

The successful candidate will bring experience in technical sales or business development within electric utilities, grid monitoring, utility automation, SCADA/OT systems, industrial technology, IoT, sensor-based monitoring, or related technical solutions.

This opportunity is well suited to a consultative business development professional who can engage technical buyers, understand complex utility or infrastructure environments, and communicate the value of advanced monitoring technologies to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

What you will be doing:

Identify and develop new business opportunities for SCADA-integrated grid and line monitoring solutions.

Position online grid monitoring sensors for fault detection, diagnostics, real-time monitoring, and AAR/ALR line-rating applications.

Build relationships with prospective utility customers, partners, technology providers, and industry influencers.

Assess customer needs and recommend tailored monitoring solutions that deliver measurable business value.

Monitor emerging trends in grid monitoring, utility automation, industrial IoT, sensor integration, SCADA/OT, and fault monitoring technologies.

Develop and execute business development strategies to support revenue growth and market expansion.

Track competitor activity and market dynamics to support effective market positioning.

Manage business development activity, forecast sales, and report progress to senior leadership.

Collaborate with sales, product management, marketing, and technical teams to support go-to-market activity.

Help develop sales enablement tools, customer guides, questionnaires, and related resources.

Attend technical conferences and industry events for networking and lead generation.

Perform other related duties as required.

What you must have:

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Technology, or a related discipline.

5+ years of business development or sales experience in industrial technology, automation, IoT, SCADA systems, utility automation, grid monitoring, or related technical solutions.

Strong understanding of fault monitoring technologies, sensor integration, and SCADA systems.

Experience selling or supporting technical solutions used in electric utilities, grid monitoring, transmission/distribution, utility automation, or industrial infrastructure environments is strongly preferred.

Demonstrated success generating new business and closing sales in a technical environment.

Experience managing customer relationships and developing strategic accounts.

Ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.

Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and consultative selling skills.

Strong collaboration skills with technical and commercial teams.

Strong analytical and strategic thinking abilities.

Willingness to travel for client meetings and industry events.

Ideal Background:

The ideal candidate may come from a background in electric utility technology, grid monitoring, line monitoring, transmission and distribution automation, SCADA/OT systems, industrial IoT, utility automation, sensor-based monitoring, fault detection, electrical monitoring, or related technical solution sales.

Experience with utility grid reliability, overhead line monitoring, grid-edge sensors, field devices, AAR/ALR line-rating applications, or SCADA-integrated monitoring solutions would be highly relevant.

Salary/Rate Range: $150,000 - $180,000 + bonus
