Business Development Manager – SCADA Monitoring Solutions

Location: US Remote
Compensation: $150,000 - $180,000 + bonus
Travel: As required

Overview

Our client is seeking a Business Development Manager – SCADA Monitoring Solutions to identify and develop new business opportunities for advanced online fault monitoring solutions integrated with SCADA systems.

This role focuses on understanding customer challenges, building strategic relationships, and positioning sensor-based monitoring technologies as trusted solutions for fault detection, diagnostics, and real-time monitoring. The successful candidate will bring experience in technical sales or business development within industrial technology, automation, IoT, SCADA systems, or related monitoring solutions.

This opportunity is well suited to a consultative business development professional who can engage technical buyers, understand complex customer environments, and communicate the value of advanced monitoring technologies to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities for SCADA-integrated monitoring solutions.
  • Build relationships with prospective customers, partners, and industry influencers.
  • Assess customer needs and recommend tailored monitoring solutions that deliver measurable business value.
  • Monitor emerging trends in automation, industrial IoT, sensor integration, and fault monitoring technologies.
  • Develop and execute business development strategies to support revenue growth and market expansion.
  • Track competitor activity and market dynamics to support effective market positioning.
  • Manage business development activity, forecast sales, and report progress to senior leadership.
  • Collaborate with sales, product management, marketing, and technical teams to support go-to-market activity.
  • Help develop sales enablement tools, customer guides, questionnaires, and related resources.
  • Attend technical conferences and industry events for networking and lead generation.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

What You Must Have

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Technology, or a related discipline.
  • 5+ years of business development or sales experience in industrial technology, automation, IoT, SCADA systems, or related technical solutions.
  • Strong understanding of fault monitoring technologies, sensor integration, and SCADA systems.
  • Demonstrated success generating new business and closing sales in a technical environment.
  • Experience managing customer relationships and developing strategic accounts.
  • Ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and consultative selling skills.
  • Strong collaboration skills with technical and commercial teams.
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking abilities.
  • Willingness to travel for client meetings and industry events.
