Overview:
The Communication Professional Level 2 provides senior-level communication support and advice for project communication, change management, and stakeholder engagement involving high profile and/or high-risk communication activities to support successful completion of assigned projects and initiatives safely, with quality, within budget, and on time.
What you will be doing:

Compose, write, and edit communication materials including newsletters, management reports, and presentations by using expert skills in communication, planning, and implementation as well as good knowledge of project management principles to support assigned business groups at the company.

Lead communication planning for formal programs and projects, including developing required deliverables, providing progress reports, and presenting implementation plans to business leads, steering committees, and/or executive sponsors so that assigned projects and initiatives are successfully implemented as planned.

Create effective communication plans by using consultative methodologies and techniques including online platforms to accurately determine communication needs of the assigned project or initiative.

Act as subject matter expert by advising on communication and stakeholder relations best practices, models, standards, policies and procedures to help build communication capability at the company.

Collaborate with business teams in the company’s complex organization by using persuasive influence, excellent business knowledge, and fluency in news, ideas, and culture to build strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders so that projects and strategic initiatives are successfully completed.

Develop and implement comprehensive communication material for the Non-Integrated Area (NIA) Planning and Strategy team including external and internal communication for the NIA Strategy.

Drive communications to build awareness, alignment, and support for the NIA Strategy and other initiatives.

Support engagement communications: prepare materials for community forums, technical working groups, information sessions; develop appropriate messaging, FAQs, and engagement summaries.

Provide communications recommendations to NIA leadership and project teams; develop key messages, briefing notes, Q&As, and presentations.

Establish metrics to evaluate communication effectiveness and continuously improve approaches based on feedback.

Collaborate cross-functionally including with Indigenous Relations, Regulatory, Project Delivery, Legal, and external partners.

Ensure all communications adhere to the company's communication and brand standards.
What you must have:

Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, Business Administration, Indigenous Studies, or a related field.

Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive experience in strategic communications, public affairs, or stakeholder engagement, with experience on complex, multi-stakeholder or infrastructure/energy projects.

Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with proven ability to distill complex technical, regulatory, or energy concepts into clear, accessible language for diverse audiences.

Experience with digital and multimedia communications (websites, social media, video, newsletters) and content management.

Strong project management, organizational, and interpersonal skills; ability to build trust-based relationships and work effectively in a collaborative, matrixed environment.

Willingness and ability to travel to remote NIA communities as needed.

Valid Class 5 BC driver’s license (or equivalent) and clean driving record.

Experience in the energy/utilities sector, regulatory environments, or government/public sector communications.
Salary/Rate Range: $69.00 -$87.00 per hour
Term: 8-month contract; most likely to extend
