Overview:
Our client seeks a real estate associate in the Seattle area to join its robust Real Property practice. This role will focus primarily on real estate finance transactions, with a particular emphasis on representation of lenders in financing matters supporting affordable housing and community development projects. The associate will work closely with partners representing lenders, developers, and investors in sophisticated real estate finance transactions, including construction and permanent loans, tax credit financings, and public-private development projects. The position offers significant exposure to complex financing structures while also providing opportunities to work on broader commercial real estate matters.
What you will be doing:

Assist in representing lenders, developers, and investors in complex real estate finance transactions, including construction and permanent loans and loans involving affordable housing/community development projects, Low-Income Housing Tax Credits (LIHTCs), tax-exempt bonds and other public financing structures

Provide support on other commercial real estate transactions, including acquisitions and dispositions, joint ventures and development projects, and leasing matters

Assist with drafting and negotiating loan and other transaction documents, reviewing transaction structures, and supporting closing processes

Conduct and manage customary real estate and finance due diligence, including title and survey analysis and review of organizational due diligence materials

Assist with coordination among lenders, developers, investors, public agencies, and other stakeholders on various due diligence, documentation, and closing matters

Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, and team members across offices on complex real estate and financing matters
What you must have:
-
JD from an accredited law school
-
Admission to practice in Washington State
-
Minimum 2+ years of real estate transactional experience
-
Experience representing lenders, borrowers, or developers in commercial real estate financing transactions
-
Experience or interest in affordable housing finance, LIHTC transactions, tax-exempt bond financing, or public-private development projects

Experience conducting customary real estate and finance due diligence, including title and survey review

Experience assisting with loan closings, financing documentation, and transaction coordination

Prior law firm experience and commitment to working in a collaborative law firm environment

Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills

Ability to manage multiple assignments while working both independently and collaboratively
Salary/Rate Range: The annualized salary range for this position is $215,000 to $310,000. Actual pay will be adjusted based on the candidate’s education, training, experience, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
