Location: Sydney, Australia
Work Arrangement: Hybrid
Salary: AUD $180,000–$200,000
Additional Compensation: Approximately AUD $16,000 car allowance plus 12% superannuation
Position Overview
Our client is seeking an experienced Sales Director to lead its commercial activities across Australia and New Zealand.
This senior leadership role is responsible for developing and executing the regional sales strategy, driving revenue growth, expanding market presence, and building long-term relationships with enterprise customers, distributors, and channel partners.
The successful candidate will lead and develop the sales team while remaining actively involved in strategic customer relationships, major commercial opportunities, forecasting, pipeline management, and market-development initiatives.
The ideal person has substantial experience leading a national or regional technical-sales organization and a proven record of growing revenue within electrical, industrial, energy, utility, engineering, automation, instrumentation, or other technically complex markets.
What You Will Be Doing
- Develop and execute the sales strategy for Australia and New Zealand
- Drive revenue growth, market expansion, and new-business development
- Identify opportunities across key industrial, utility, energy, infrastructure, and technical markets
- Build and maintain relationships with strategic customers, distributors, and channel partners
- Expand and strengthen the distribution network across Australia and New Zealand
- Lead solution-based selling across a broad technical product portfolio
- Support major customer opportunities and commercial negotiations
- Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing sales team
- Manage sales pipeline, forecasting, performance metrics, and commercial results
- Analyze customer needs, market conditions, competitor activity, and emerging opportunities
- Collaborate with global leadership and cross-functional product, technical, marketing, and operational teams
- Ensure regional sales activity supports broader business objectives
What You Must Have
- 10–15+ years of B2B technical-sales experience
- Previous experience as a Sales Director, National Sales Manager, Country Manager, Regional Sales Director, or comparable commercial leader
- Demonstrated success leading and developing a sales team
- Proven experience growing revenue and expanding market share
- Experience managing enterprise customers, distributors, and channel partners
- Ability to develop and execute a national or regional sales strategy
- Experience managing sales forecasts, pipeline activity, performance metrics, and commercial results
- Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and stakeholder-management skills
- Ability to understand technically complex products and lead consultative, solution-based sales discussions
- Commercial and analytical capability with a practical problem-solving approach
- Experience collaborating with international and cross-functional teams
- Legal authorization to work in Australia

Compensation and Benefits
- Base salary of AUD $180,000–$200,000
- Approximately AUD $16,000 annual car allowance
- 12% superannuation contribution
- Four weeks’ annual leave, equivalent to 20 days
