Overview:
Our client is seeking an experienced Professional Licensing & Compliance Specialist to support licensing activities within a highly regulated environment. This position is responsible for researching state licensing requirements, maintaining licensing records, coordinating regulatory filings, and ensuring individual licensees remain compliant with applicable requirements and deadlines. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing confidential information and multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

What you will be doing:

  • Research licensing requirements and regulatory topics with state agencies.

  • Analyze licensing requirements and ensure compliance with state and federal guidelines.

  • Maintain, monitor, and update individual licensing data within an internal licensing management system.

  • Prepare and distribute weekly licensing reports to compliance teams, management, and business stakeholders.

  • Coordinate licensing-related communication with regulatory agencies, licensees, and internal stakeholders.

  • Complete license verification checks with state agencies and escalate exceptions to management.

  • Submit new license, transition, amendment, renewal, and surrender filings through the Nationwide Multistate Licensing System (NMLS).

  • Review licensing applications and advise licensees on outstanding requirements.

  • Monitor licensee rosters, renewals, continuing education requirements, and upcoming deadlines.

  • Facilitate documentation and signature collection during onboarding and renewal processes.

  • Reconcile expenses associated with license applications, renewals, and ongoing license maintenance.

  • Order licensing records and supporting documentation from state agencies.

  • Maintain accurate electronic records while protecting confidential legal, financial, and personal information.

  • Manage shifting priorities independently while consistently delivering high-quality service and results.


What you must have:

  • Minimum of five years of mortgage licensing, professional licensing, or compliance experience within a regulated industry.

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.

  • Knowledge of regulatory frameworks and industry practices related to mortgage licensing, title insurance, or other state-licensed entities.

  • Experience using NMLS required or strongly preferred.

  • Experience with Sircon and/or the National Insurance Producer Registry (NIPR) preferred.

  • Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.

  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.

  • Experience with document management and electronic recordkeeping.

  • Proven ability to protect sensitive and confidential information.

  • Ability to work independently, multitask, and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace applications.
