Overview:
The Logistics Supervisor is responsible for the coordination and supervision of logistics activities, including receiving, shipping, importing, exporting, incoming component inspection, and warehousing. As a team leader, this role ensures smooth operations, process compliance, and the optimization of resources. The Logistics Supervisor works collaboratively with the Quality, Procurement, and Production departments to ensure a high level of efficiency and customer satisfaction.
What you will be doing:
Leadership and Team Management

Supervise and coach teams to ensure an efficient workflow while respecting priorities and deadlines.

Actively participate in the continuous improvement of logistics processes.

Train and develop team members, ensuring their professional development and compliance with safety and quality standards.

Monitor team performance using key performance indicators (KPIs) and take corrective action when performance deviates from targets.

Ensure compliance with internal procedures, safety regulations, and best practices in inventory management.

Resolve day-to-day operational issues by identifying appropriate solutions to unforeseen situations, such as delays and shipping/receiving errors.
Shipping and Receiving Management

Supervise and coordinate all receiving and shipping activities to ensure a smooth and efficient workflow while meeting production deadlines and priorities.

Manage shipping and receiving teams by assigning daily tasks and ensuring optimal allocation of resources based on operational needs.

Manage shipping and receiving issues by promptly resolving non-conformities, delays, and documentation errors.

Monitor and ensure compliance with safety and material handling standards while training and promoting best practices among team members.
Import and Export Management

Plan and supervise all import and export operations, ensuring compliance with regulatory, customs, and contractual requirements.

Manage relationships with land, sea, and air carriers to ensure service levels meet company and customer expectations.

Ensure compliance with export controls and destination-specific shipping restrictions.
Warehouse Management

Ensure the efficient organization of warehouse space to maximize capacity and facilitate access to materials.

Coordinate kitting activities based on production requirements, ensuring the accuracy of components and quantities prepared.

Ensure cycle counts are completed according to schedule, analyze inventory discrepancies, and implement corrective actions.

Manage and optimize inventory processes to ensure real-time inventory accuracy within ERP/WMS systems.
Incoming Component Inspection

Plan, organize, and supervise incoming component inspection activities to ensure compliance with technical specifications, engineering drawings, and quality requirements.

Supervise and train inspection team members, ensuring compliance with quality standards.

Implement and enforce rigorous visual, dimensional, and functional inspection processes.

Collaborate with the Quality, Engineering, and Procurement departments to address non-conformities and resolve incoming component issues promptly.
What you must have:

Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field.

3–5 years of experience in a logistics supervisory role.

Working knowledge of import/export, warehousing, kitting, and quality inspection processes.

Proficiency with precision measurement tools, quality standards, and ERP/WMS systems.

Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage priorities, solve problems, and communicate effectively.

Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, autonomy, and a results-oriented mindset.

Fluency in both French and English (required to transact with suppliers outside Quebec).
Salary/Rate Range: $90,000–$105,000
