Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Production Supervisor to lead weekend production operations in a manufacturing environment. Reporting to the Production Manager, this role is responsible for supervising a team of technicians and operators, ensuring production and testing activities run safely, efficiently, and in accordance with quality standards and production schedules. This is a hands-on leadership position requiring a strong people leader who can drive team performance, support continuous improvement initiatives, and monitor production metrics to ensure operational success.
What you will be doing:
- Lead and supervise a team of approximately 10–15 technicians and production operators during the weekend shift.
- Oversee production and technical testing activities to ensure products meet quality and technical specifications.
- Assign work based on production schedules and operational priorities.
- Ensure resources, equipment, and materials are available to maintain production flow.
- Coach, mentor, and develop employees while fostering a positive and collaborative team environment.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for production employees during the weekend shift.
- Review production requirements, identify operational constraints, and resolve scheduling or resource conflicts.
- Work closely with production planning, logistics, and management teams to support operational objectives.
- Monitor key production KPIs and use data to drive operational improvements.
- Support reporting and production analytics, including the use of Power BI to track weekend production performance and metrics.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, quality, and productivity.
- Participate in hiring activities, employee development, and performance evaluations.
- Act on behalf of the Production Manager when required.
What you must have:
- Minimum 5 years of leadership or supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience managing teams in a unionized workplace with a strong understanding of collective agreements, including hiring, promotions, and workforce management.
- Bachelor's degree in Operations Management, Production Management, Mechanical Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing operations and production processes.
- Experience supervising technical testing or production testing activities.
- Strong understanding of production KPIs and operational reporting.
- Experience using Power BI or similar reporting tools to analyze production data.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Bilingual (French/English) with strong French communication skills required.
- A collaborative, people-focused leader with the ability to motivate and drive team performance.
Nice to have:
- Knowledge of electronic and mechanical manufacturing technologies is considered an asset.
- Experience supporting the production of highly regulated or complex manufactured products is an asset.
Salary/Rate Range: $90,000–$105,000 annually + 8% Weekend Shift Premium
