Overview:
This manufacturing company is seeking a dedicated and experienced Safety Manager to lead our Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) initiatives. Reporting to the Plant Manager, you will be responsible for fostering a proactive safety culture across our manufacturing operations. This is a hands-on leadership role that requires strong engagement with our teams to ensure compliance with WorkSafeBC regulations and the continuous improvement of our safety performance. You will also provide direct leadership to our Safety Coordinator.


What you will be doing:

  • Safety Leadership: Champion a proactive safety culture, acting as a trusted advisor to management and employees.

  • Compliance & Risk: Ensure full compliance with WorkSafeBC regulations and legislation; lead hazard assessments and risk evaluations.

  • Incident Management: Facilitate investigations, identify root causes, and track corrective actions.

  • Engagement: Coordinate JOHSC meetings, safety training, and awareness campaigns.

  • Reporting: Manage electronic safety systems and track KPIs, including injury frequency and audit completion rates.

  • Return to Work: Administer claims management and support our RTW program.


What you must have:

  • Minimum 5 years of progressive HSE leadership experience in a manufacturing, fabrication, or heavy industrial environment.

  • Strong knowledge of WorkSafeBC regulations and claims management.

  • Experience managing electronic safety systems.

  • Education: Grade 12 diploma or equivalent; Post-secondary education in OHS, Risk Management, or a related field (Diploma/Degree preferred).

  • Designations: CRSP (Canadian Registered Safety Professional) preferred; CSO or Occupational First Aid training is an asset.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.


Salary/Rate Range: $55,000.00 - $90,000.00
