Overview:
We are seeking an experienced IT Project Manager to lead a systems modernization initiative focused on early learning and child care administration. This is a net-new role responsible for guiding the project from initiation through development, implementation, and operations start-up. The work involves consolidating fragmented processes for licensing, grants administration, educator certification, and compliance tracking into a single integrated platform.



What you will be doing:

  • Lead the project through development, implementation, and operations start-up

  • Define objectives, budget, team structure, and governance

  • Manage schedules, critical path, risks, issues, and change requests

  • Coordinate vendors and diverse stakeholders

  • Support implementation and ensure a clean transition to operations

  • Drive the project through to formal sign-off


What you must have:

  • Valid PMP certification in good standing

  • Minimum 5 years as a Project Manager leading complex projects involving large data migrations

  • Minimum 2 years experience in a Canadian government or equivalent public-sector environment

  • Minimum 3 years experience working with large, diverse stakeholder groups

  • Minimum 2 years hands-on experience implementing or managing permitting, compliance, and licensing software

Strongly Preferred

  • Direct experience with AMANDA (or very similar permitting/licensing platforms)

  • Experience in early learning / childcare environments

  • Understanding of Canadian childcare legislation

  • Experience with Case Management systems

  • Proven ability to recover off-track projects and adapt approach mid-stream


Salary/Pay Rate: $105.00/ hour


Term: 6-month contract (with possible 12-month extension)


Other Information:

  • Duration: 6 months (approx. 127 business days), with potential 12-month extension

  • Fully remote within Canada

  • Working hours: 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Mountain Time, Monday–Friday

  • Candidate must provide their own computer and equipment (Windows preferred)

  • Rate is all-inclusive
