What you will be doing:

• Independently design and build an internal business application using React and Node.js.

• Develop interfaces supporting both end-user functionality and application administration/support.

• Work from business concepts and requirements rather than relying on fully developed wireframes or detailed UI specifications.

• Partner closely with the Business Analyst and business users to determine how workflows and functionality should operate.

• Help translate business processes into intuitive application functionality and user experiences.

• Provide input into UI/process design and recommend effective approaches based on previous application development experience.

• Build functionality iteratively, with the goal of establishing an initial interface quickly and continuing to enhance it through regular releases.

API & Integration Development

• Build and support the integration/interface layer between the application, databases and external/internal services.

• Develop and consume REST APIs and other application interfaces.

• Work with JSON, XML and other data integration formats.

• Ensure clean separation between the UI, interface/API and underlying application/data layers.

• Troubleshoot application and integration issues across multiple layers.

Backend & Data Development
While UI development will be the initial priority, the developer may also support other areas of the market data modernization project as needs evolve.
This may include:

• Contributing to backend development using C#/.NET.

• Supporting market data ingestion and data collection processes.

• Working with SQL Server / Azure SQL databases.

• Developing or maintaining SQL queries, views and stored procedures.

• Supporting API-based and external market data integrations.

• Assisting with data processing, troubleshooting and performance-related issues.

What you must have:

• Strong hands-on React development experience.

• Ability to independently build a business application/interface rather than simply developing from completed designs.

• Strong Node.js experience.

• Experience designing and developing REST APIs and application integrations.

• Strong understanding of how frontend applications connect with API/interface and database layers.

• Experience working with relational databases and SQL.

• Strong application development fundamentals.

• Ability to work from high-level concepts and evolving requirements.

• Strong communication and stakeholder-facing skills.

• Comfortable speaking directly with end users to understand their needs and help shape application functionality.

• Self-starter who can operate effectively without highly detailed specifications or wireframes.
