Job Title: Senior Process Engineer
Job ID: 90235
Location: Los Angeles, California/ New York

What you will be doing:

  • Evaluate manufacturing processes across USCT's portfolio of specialty chemical/materials companies.

  • Get onto the factory floor and deeply understand how products are actually being manufactured.

  • Identify bottlenecks across throughput, yield, labor, quality, equipment utilization, material flow and cost.

  • Redesign and optimize manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, reliability, scalability and economics.

  • Evaluate new manufacturing equipment, automation and process technologies.

  • Build the business case and ROI behind technical investments: CapEx, labor savings, throughput improvements, yield gains, payback periods, etc.

  • Translate technical recommendations into decisions leadership can act on.

  • Work directly with operators, technicians and plant leadership to implement improvements -- not just recommend them.

  • Support technical diligence on potential acquisitions and identify opportunities to improve facilities after acquisition.

  • Help bring modern manufacturing thinking into highly specialized, often legacy industrial environments.

What you must have:

  • Real manufacturing experience. You have spent meaningful time inside manufacturing environments and understand how factories actually operate.

  • Strong process engineering foundation. Ideally materials, chemical, process, manufacturing or adjacent engineering.

  • Factory-floor instincts. You can observe an unfamiliar manufacturing process, dissect it, find the constraint and formulate a better approach.

  • Heavy manufacturing/process exposure. Specialty chemicals, materials processing, advanced manufacturing or similar environments are especially relevant.

  • Technical + financial brain. You don't stop at "this machine would make the process faster." You can determine what it costs, what it saves, the operational tradeoffs and whether the investment actually makes sense.

  • High EQ. You're walking into established companies with people who may have spent decades perfecting their craft. You need to earn credibility, learn from them and bring them along -- not walk in acting like the corporate person who knows everything.

  • Travel. This role needs someone who genuinely enjoys being at manufacturing sites.

Salary/Rate Range: $170,000-$220,000
