Job Title: CNC Machine Tool Sales Representative
Job ID: 90325
Location: British Columbia -- territory primarily Fraser Valley, with province-wide BC coverage

Overview:
Our client is one of Western Canada's leading distributors of CNC machine tools, metalworking equipment, tooling, and machine shop supplies. Founded in the early 1900s and operating from four branches across Western Canada, they represent a portfolio of the world's top machine tool manufacturers -- turning centres, machining centres, Swiss-type lathes, EDM, sawing, and heavy-duty milling and turning technology -- and back every sale with local applications, service, parts, and operational support. They are adding a strategic CNC Machine Tool Sales Representative to their BC team to help grow their presence in Western Canada's manufacturing sector. The territory centres on the Fraser Valley -- one of the densest manufacturing corridors in the province -- with broader BC coverage. This is a capital equipment sales role for someone who genuinely enjoys manufacturing technology: walking a shop floor, understanding what a customer is making and where they're constrained, and putting the right machine and automation solution in front of them.

What you will be doing:

  • Build strong, long-term relationships with an established customer base while actively developing new accounts and opportunities.

  • Become a trusted resource by understanding your customers' businesses, applications, challenges, and future equipment requirements.

  • Identify opportunities where new machine tool technology can improve productivity, capacity, quality, automation, or manufacturing cost.

  • Consistently generate new leads and develop them into machine tool sales.

  • Conduct pre-sales analysis to understand customer applications and recommend the appropriate equipment and solution.

  • Present machine tool technologies, capabilities, features, and benefits to customers at all levels, from the shop floor to ownership.

  • Coordinate product demonstrations and work alongside suppliers, applications specialists, and the service team throughout the sales process.

  • Prepare and follow up on quotations, maintaining accurate detail through the full sales cycle.

  • Use the CRM to manage opportunities, customer activity, target accounts, follow-ups, and sales progress.

  • Maintain a healthy pipeline and manage multiple opportunities at different stages simultaneously.

  • Work closely with internal teams to ensure equipment is properly ordered, delivered, installed, and supported.

  • Stay current on machine tool technology, automation, and manufacturing and competitive trends.

  • Take ownership of the details surrounding every sale so customers receive the level of service and support they expect.

What you must have:

  • Machine tool sales experience is preferred; strong capital equipment or industrial sales backgrounds will also be considered.

  • Proven sales, prospecting, negotiation, and closing ability.

  • A demonstrated track record of developing new business and building long-term customer relationships.

  • Strong technical aptitude and a real interest in manufacturing technology.

  • Excellent organizational and follow-up skills.

  • The ability to manage a territory and a pipeline independently, with regular travel within the Fraser Valley and across BC.

  • Strong computer skills and hands-on experience with CRM software.

  • A self-motivated, competitive, results-driven approach.

  • Strong communication and presentation skills.

  • A commitment to putting the customer's long-term success first.
