What you will be doing:

• Act as the University side functional lead for Workday Finance, and for Adaptive Planning in partnership with Deloitte and the Finance team.

• Own Foundation Data Model integrity, including worktag structure, cost centre and fund hierarchies, and ongoing position and budget data integrity.

• Build and validate the custom reports and integrations that feed Adaptive Planning, and reconcile Adaptive outputs to Workday actuals.

• Review Deloitte design deliverables, confirm they meet requirements, and formally accept or reject them on behalf of the University.

• Configure and improve Finance business processes, approval routing and security, and work the Finance sustainment backlog in Jira.

• Lead Workday release readiness across feature review, impact assessment, configuration and regression testing.

• Identify functional gaps and risks, document them, and drive them to resolution through our Jira and TeamDynamix processes.

• Transfer knowledge to Capilano staff throughout the contract, not only at the end of it.

What you must have:

• Minimum five years of hands on Workday configuration experience, with the majority in Workday Financials.

• At least two full Workday implementation lifecycles, including one where you held a functional lead or client side role rather than a support role.

• Demonstrated FDM design and maintenance experience, with specific examples you can walk through.

• Proven Workday custom report building, including calculated fields and RaaS.

• Direct experience supporting Workday release cycles in a production tenant.

• Experience working alongside a large implementation partner, and the judgment and standing to push back on partner design.

• Clear written documentation habits. Design decisions, configuration changes and test results must be recorded well enough for another consultant to pick up.

• Communication and stakeholder skills strong enough to translate a Workday issue into a clear decision for Finance leadership.
