Overview:
Our client, a mining and resource operator with Northern operations, is seeking a Superintendent, Contracts to lead contracting and commercial administration in support of their Nunavut operations. In this role, you will oversee contract strategy, tendering, negotiation, award, execution, change management and close-out, while ensuring compliance with corporate policy, delegated authorities, HSE standards, Indigenous impact benefit agreement requirements and applicable law. You will lead a team of Contracts Administrators and an Indigenous Agreement Compliance Officer, and you will work closely with Operations, Finance and Legal to protect commercial value and support reliable delivery at site. Periodic site travel to Northern operations is required.

What you will be doing:

• Lead the Contracts Administration team, setting priorities, contracting procedures, governance standards, reporting and controls

• Direct pre-award contracting activities, including strategy, scopes, bidder prequalification, tendering, commercial evaluation, risk analysis, negotiation, award recommendations and execution

• Support Procurement in reviewing supplier terms and conditions, assessing contractual risk, and advising on required changes or mitigations

• Oversee post-award administration and close-out, including contractual deliverables, contractor performance, reporting, amendments, changes, claims, disputes, payments and final accounts

• Ensure contracts and contractor management comply with applicable Indigenous impact benefit agreement requirements, including business participation commitments, contractual clauses, tracking and reporting

• Review contract terms, pricing and risk allocation for compliance with corporate policy and delegated authorities, coordinating with Legal on regulatory and HSE requirements and risk mitigation

• Monitor commitments and expenditures, maintain SAP records, support accrual and forecast data, and coordinate with the Procurement Manager to maintain clear accountability

What you must have:

• Seven or more years of progressive contracts management experience, including at least five years in mining and leadership across operating and/or construction environments

• A Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Commerce, Economics, Engineering or a related discipline

• SCMP, CPCM or PMP designation is an asset

• Advanced knowledge of contract law, commercial risk allocation, tendering, negotiation, change and claims management, mining services, construction and commercial contracting, SAP ERP or comparable systems, and Microsoft 365/SharePoint

• Remote-jurisdiction experience is an asset
