Workday Time and Absence Functional Lead

One of our clients is seeking an experienced Workday Functional Lead to join a large-scale, multi-year ERP transformation initiative.

In this role, you'll lead the Workday Payroll, Time Tracking and Absence workstream, helping assess and optimize the existing Workday environment while supporting integration with Oracle Fusion. You'll work closely with HRIS, Payroll, Finance, technical teams and implementation partners throughout the full project lifecycle.

The Role Includes:

• Owning the functional direction for Workday Payroll, Time Tracking and Absence
• Reviewing the current Workday setup and identifying configuration or process gaps
• Working with business teams to understand requirements and translate them into practical Workday solutions
• Helping design future-state payroll, time and absence processes
• Providing guidance on Workday functionality, best practices and solution design
• Working closely with technical teams on integrations and system dependencies
• Coordinating functional testing across SIT, UAT, payroll parallel testing and validation
• Troubleshooting functional issues and supporting defect resolution
• Supporting cutover, go-live and post-implementation stabilization
• Helping internal HRIS and Payroll teams build the knowledge needed to support the environment long term

across Payroll, Time Tracking and Absence.

Experience Needed :

• Leading a Workday functional stream through multiple stages of an implementation or transformation
• Working on complex ERP or enterprise systems initiatives
• Navigating payroll processes, time management and absence administration
• Understanding how Workday changes affect integrations and connected systems
• Working directly with business stakeholders, technical teams and implementation partners
• Facilitating requirements and helping teams make functional design decisions

Experience That Would Be an Asset

• Moving employee groups into an existing Workday tenant
• M&A, acquisitions, organizational consolidation or employee migration projects
• Unionized environments or complex payroll structures
• Workday integrations involving Oracle Fusion
• Energy, utilities, manufacturing or other industrial organizations
